Lester was born in Havana, Cuba. His interest in sports began at an early age when, as a 6 year old, he competed as a National Diving Champion. At age 10, he left diving to practice water polo. As a member of the Cuban national team, Lester participated in the National Games and International tournaments including the Central American Games. Lester studied at the University of Havana from 1994 to 2000. In 1997, he was invited to study Sports Marketing at Simon Fraser University in Vancouver, British Columbia. He returned to Cuba where he graduated from the University of Havana with a Masters degree in Kinesiology.
In 2002, fascinated with the study of bio-mechanics, Lester started an apprenticeship later that year. Knowledge was taken to a new level. During his apprenticeship, Lester's knowledge was taken to a new level with the study of Applied Kinesiology in combination with the cirriculum of the Resistance Training Specialist in the US.
In January 2003, Lester completed his apprenticeship and began attending advanced courses in Applied Kinesiology, with David Leaf, Chairman of the ICAK and doctor for the New England Patriots (NFL) and Real Madrid of the Euro League. He has also attended courses in Advanced Functional Biochemistry with Dr. Chris Astill-Smith of London, England.
